Education News Today: AI Learning, Career Fair and School Safety Updates

Education News Highlights: Career Guidance, AI Learning and School Safety
Schools across India continue to focus on academic development, career awareness, creativity and student safety. Here are some of the key education updates from September 25, 2026.
AI in Education: Students Encouraged to Think Beyond Technology
Artificial Intelligence is becoming an increasingly useful tool in education, helping students access information, understand difficult topics and receive personalised learning support.
However, students are also being encouraged to use AI responsibly. An article by a Class 9 student from Dwarka International School highlights the importance of questioning information, verifying answers and avoiding simply copying AI-generated content.
The focus is on using AI as a learning aid rather than a shortcut. Creativity, independent thinking, curiosity and decision-making remain essential parts of the learning process.
New Era Public School Hosts Annual Career Fair
New Era Public School, Mayapuri, organised its annual career fair, “Pathfinder 5.0 – Take an Informed Decision.”
The event brought together 26 universities and educational institutions and saw participation from the school's students as well as more than 120 students from five other schools.
Students explored a wide range of career-related topics, including media and journalism, law, mathematics and AI, health sciences, design thinking and the future of work.
The programme also introduced students to alternative career options and changing opportunities in higher education and employment.
Fire Safety Training for Teachers
Sachdeva Global School, Sector 18, Dwarka, conducted a fire-extinguisher training session for its teachers.
The training focused on emergency preparedness, staying calm during a fire and following proper evacuation procedures. Teachers were introduced to ABC-type fire extinguishers and participated in a practical demonstration of the PASS technique.
The session also highlighted the importance of designated evacuation routes, safe assembly points, teamwork and responding quickly during emergencies.
Students Showcase Creativity Through Holiday Homework Exhibition
Guru Tegh Bahadur 3rd Centenary Public School, Mansarover Garden, organised an exhibition of students' holiday homework during a parent-teacher meeting.
The exhibition featured school projects, working models, charts, art-integrated activities and creative artwork. Students explained their projects and models to parents and visitors, giving them an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding and communication skills.
The initiative encouraged practical learning, creativity and exploration beyond textbooks.
Education Beyond Marks
The September 25 issue also highlights a broader approach to student success. Academic scores remain important, but schools are increasingly recognising the value of resilience, communication, creativity, leadership and participation beyond the classroom.
Activities such as sports, performing arts, clubs, leadership programmes and experiential learning can provide students with opportunities to develop skills that may not be reflected directly in examination scores.
Together, these developments highlight the changing role of schools in preparing students not only for examinations, but also for future careers, responsible technology use, personal growth and real-world challenges.
