Inspiring Initiatives Shaping Schools: Safety, Well-Being and Responsible AI
Admin August 20, 2026

Schools today are increasingly focusing on creating learning environments that support students beyond academics

Recent initiatives across schools highlight the growing importance of student participation, safety, mental well-being, awareness and responsible technology use.

Encouraging Student Voices

Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, hosted UpRoar 2026, bringing together students from schools across Delhi-NCR. The programme provided a platform for students to discuss gender-related issues and develop practical recommendations, encouraging young people to engage with important social concerns.

Strengthening Child Safety Awareness

At Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh, an awareness session focused on child safety, children's rights and the POCSO Act. The programme also highlighted the responsibility of school support staff in creating safer environments for children.

Prioritising Mental Health

DPS Noida conducted a meeting focused on strengthening its mental health framework. The initiative emphasised parent collaboration, peer support, student-led well-being activities and value-based education, reflecting the need for a more supportive approach to student development.

Building Road-Safety Awareness

Greenway Modern School organised a road-safety awareness programme with the Delhi Traffic Police. Students were introduced to essential safety practices, including proper helmet use, zebra-crossing awareness and responsible behaviour on the road.

Exploring AI Responsibly

Students at AKSIPS-41 used street plays to explore topics including artificial intelligence, science and nutrition. The programme also encouraged students to think about the responsible use of AI and its role in everyday life.

A Broader Approach to Education

Together, these initiatives show how schools are expanding education beyond textbooks and examinations. By encouraging student participation, strengthening safety awareness, supporting mental health, promoting responsible behaviour and introducing thoughtful conversations around AI, schools are helping students develop skills and awareness for life beyond the classroom.

Education is not only about what students learn—it is also about how they understand themselves, their communities and the changing world around them.
